The new artist showing in the Gallery of The Perfect Union starting August, 2009 is Quadrapop Lane of Austalia. Her pieces are fascinating 3D shapes of scripted design and color. Please come see!

In July of 2007, I finally decided to see what my friend Wolfie Rankin had been raving about on an email list for the last 6 months and gave SL a try… I’m still here and have been inworld almost every day since.

Here is the Artist’s Statement:

In July of 2007, I finally decided to see what my friend Wolfie Rankin had been raving about on an email list for the last 6 months and gave SL a try… I’m still here and have been inworld almost every day since.

Building, making art, importing RL photos, taking SL photos…. and generally trying all that SL has to offer. I have a Gallery, the Quadrapop Tree, where I show both my own works and those of a growing range of SL artists. You can see some of my RL photography at Chaos and Beauty.

I have shown works at SLACC, Quadrapop Tree Gallery, SL5b, Burning Life 08, Brooklyn is Watching, Chaos & Beauty, Angelgate, SL6B, Caerleon and now Star Journey http://slurl.com/secondlife/Star%20Journey/44/150/447. In 2008 I curated a survey show of SL art, that was shown jointly at Quadrapop Tree Gallery and Code’e CodeRed Gallery.

Since I was 4 weeks old in SL I have helped others with understanding and utilising this crazy virtual world. In early 2008 I became an SL Mentor and have taught building and general SL client use as well as helped many individuals with queries of a bewildering range.

Mutable by nature, in both RL and SL, I am a polymorph — which means my avatar changes constantly — I may be human, animal, mineral, tech or even a puff of particles as the whim or mood takes me. Usually female — but not always.

Based in RL in Australia on the west coast. I have Graphic design and Art History Degrees with a number of years experience in the Garphic Designa dnAdvertising fields.

My art has been described as "Trippy!", "psychedellic" and "who needs acid tabs…" Anything I make that is big enough to walk through or into will be phantom (except for the bits that hold you up). Next on my list of things to learn is scripting to add more functionality to my builds… then sculpties.. then….

Circles, spirals, spheres, rainbow colours and a decided abstract aspect are present in many of my works as are metaphors bot explicit and implicit. Usually there is no overt "meaning" to these works – they are like nature… they exist for, and in, themselves. Come inside and enjoy the world of quad.
