Committed to the promotion of the sacredness of not only life, but the respect of cultural and individual journey beliefs, the purpose of the studio is to display, share, promote and generally uplift the spirit of the artists, the performers and the wonderful muses involved in our projects. Hopefully we will be able to share some of that joy and sorrow, pain and hope, struggle and accomplishment with you the viewer.

Featured is going to be the art of Marion Z. Skydancer, but also the work of those muses and artists that work with me to create images and experiences I could never accomplish on my own. Every deviation has and will always have all the necessary legal paperwork for copyrights, model releases and credits to make very certain everyone involved gets the proper thanks, exposure and rights to the works.

All material displayed is primarily copyright to Dragon’s Chyld Studio and Marion Z. Skydancer with co rights as specified on each deviation. This is not a club, but real life working studio that connects with and collaborates with creative souls from around the planet and around the many universes of belief and inspiration we live in as artists and performers, artisans and crafters, living beings and breathing souls.

Things you probably should know about me.

I am very much a soul that loves the wild things and the natural ways, but I am not an anti-technologist, just happen to believe that it should be serving the world, not driving the mechanistic cultures of man.

I am not pagan. Nor am I a member of any religion including atheism. I am, for lack of a better way of explaining it, a native american traditionalist. And despite what many of you might think or believe, that is neither being pagan nor belonging to a religion. The foundations of my journey are pretty simple really. Absolute respect for the planet and everything that it is. Acceptance of the natural journey and my place in it. Absolute privacy and respect for the individual and the family, clan and tribe. Acceptance of the incredible gifts that spirit brings me in the form of souls that I might touch in my work and my life and that teach and touch me in the process. Acceptance that what I need, will be there when I need it, and that what I want is not important, but what I do and how I live is. Respect for all the spirits in all their forms, be they upright on two legs, running along on four paws, winged or finned or scaled it does not matter, we are all the same and we all deserve the same respect and consideration for our needs. The air and water and land are there to be our life, not for us to take and twist and destroy.

Everything, every rock, every leaf, every planetary inhabitant has the same right to respect and concern. That is my journey.

As the artist that I express, it is my need to interact with, sometimes greatly disturb, or place a mirror before, or expose to the world, the souls and the spirits that I work with, through their bodies, their own art, and their stories that they tell me. I would, if allowed, always celebrate those stories, always elevate and enhance and express the very best of what they, and I, am.

But that is not what art is about, rather it is about telling a true story, though the truth may be obscure and confused and tangled in many issues and pain. But when I can, I will always try to show the unseen miracles that I see when I look through my lens or as I study a  body upon my canvas, be it the wondrous magic page of light that is my computer, or the rough woven cloth of an oil painting. There usually is no real "message" or "statement" in my work, other than the pure wonder of the spirit I see in the flesh before me. I hope it will always be so.

I am a native american that happens to be an artist. I am not, a native artist. They really are two very different points of view. Rarely do I put on the page the symbols and stories of my own people, since I believe to do so is to betray the traditions of the people. Instead, I use the mythic, traditional and symbolic stories of european, asian, oriental, hindu, buddist, and other ancient systems of belief and living. That is why so often you will see me doing works that involve ideas and traditions that are far removed from native american experiences. And it is also why I use the wheel of the seasons so much in my work and my expressions.

Oh yes, and as hard as it might be to believe, I am not a hippie either. I do not, and never have done recreational drugs, nor do I support or believe in their use. I do not believe in dropping out or disconnecting from the world. I have a very strong and quite basic work ethic and I was raised on an old fashioned working farm. I have served in the US military and I still have a top secret security clearance. While I may not agree with the government or the laws passed by often corrupt and rather blind officials, I deal with it by working within the system, not by trying to destroy it all. And I also support, very strongly, reasonable and efficient law enforcement. I do believe that the individual needs to accept responsibility for their own actions and their own defense and protection, and for the safety and guidance of their children. I do not believe that you have the right to force your views or religions onto others and that the use of law and political power to do so is one of the highest evils in this culture. And with that goes the absolute responsibility for your own decisions in your life and in the discipline and upbringing of your children. Frankly I don’t think it is governments responsibility to protect you or your family from ideas, or from other peoples views and lifestyles. That is your responsibility and to abrogate that is to totally fail as a parent. My opinion.

Skylarian Isachenko

As an artist it is my responsibity to express that which I am given to see, to feel, to experience. We are the the interpreters of the dreams of the gods and the inspirations of the goddesses to the realms of man. If we dance, then we dance with the passions of the possessed, and when we paint, there is no other world than the one in which we dip our brushes. Our voices are not our own, but are the ecstatic revelations of the universe. Ask me not to be other than I am, nor attempt to entangle me in the illusions of the mandream, for without the art, the willing sacrifices of the artists souls, there would be only a hollow and empty journey for the spirit of mankind. We are the speakers for man to the gods themselves, and in turn, the conduits of divine inspiration and vision. It consumes us and uses us up, for human flesh cannot contain the sheer power of the gods. But for those few brief moments, we illuminate the world. Truly it is not about the suffering, but instead it is about those few moments in our lives when we reach the ultimate mind and for a moment translate some tiny part of the mysteries of eternity into something you can see, or taste, touch or listen to.

In my humble opinion, this is what art is all about. (c) 2006
