Holistic Nurses Conference to Hold Session on Star Journey

We’re very pleased to learn that the 2011 annual conference of the American Holistic Nurses Association will feature a session on Star Journey Symbol System. Dr. Sonya Hardin, Associate Professor of Nursing at University of North Carolina, will co-present with system author and founder Richard Geer in a session titled: “Star Journey: A Method for Reflection and Transformation with Graduate Nursing Students”.

The AHNA’s 31st annual conference will be held in June 2–5, 2011 in Louisville, Kentucky. With over 5,000 members, AHNA is the definitive voice for holistic nursing, promoting the education of nurses, healthcare professionals, and the public in all aspects of holistic caring and healing.

The presentation will show how the Star Journey method is a teaching strategy that enhances reflection and introspection of graduate nursing students. The method can be beneficial to health care providers wanting to reflect on their practice, or with clients that are moving through the universe in need of direction. The direction comes from within, and it emerges through discovery of one’s own becoming.
